Vita

Heiner studied computer science and economics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. He finished his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in 2011, 2014 respectively, and received his Ph.D. degree from the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg in 2019. During his research, he studied at the Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan and at the Osaka Prefecture University in Sakai, Japan. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral research and teaching associate in the areas of evolutionary computation and swarm intelligence. His research focuses on multi-objective evolutionary and particle swarm optimization, in particular on problems with large numbers of decision variables.
